W/NY Deputy Runs 48.6 Miles and Raises over $1700 for the Fund!
Our first member of the SBF FIT Team, W/NY Deputy Wilson, participated in the Run Disney Dopey Challenge in honor of Deputy US Marshals that were killed in the line of duty. He ran four back-to-back races on consecutive days: a 5k, 10k, Half Marathon and Marathon for a total of 48.6 miles!!! This is clearly no easy task and required a lot of training and dedication on his part. All money he raised went directly to the U.S. Marshals Survivors Benefit Fund. He is signed up to run in additional races this year and continues to raise money for the Fund. Please support his efforts in honoring the ultimate sacrifice of our fallen Deputy US Marshals.

E/NY Fundraiser A Huge Success!
On October 16th, 2014, the Eastern District of New York organized a great evening of events to support the US Marshals Survivors Benefit fund and commemorate the 225th Anniversary of the United State Marshals Service. What a fun night!!! There was a great turnout for dinner, open bar, live bands, stand-up comedy, raffles and silent auction. The night of music and fun raised $8,600 for the Fund. Special thanks to SDUSM Bobby Ledogar who worked tirelessly to coordinate the event and to all of the volunteers, sponsors and attendees whose support made the evening a success!
2014 Marshals Golf Classic Raises $44k for the Survivors Benefit Fund!
On a cool October morning, golfers gathered at Andrews Air Force Base Golf Course for a hot breakfast at the kickoff of the 2nd Marshals Golf Classic. Due to the incredible turnout, a second course was added and the tournament was played on the East and South courses. After a beautiful day on the golf course, the golfers returned for a big lunch, awards ceremony, raffle prizes and an awesome impromptu auction by the tournament’s chairman, Mike Prout. These efforts, combined with invaluable sponsor support, raffle sales, registration and donations raised over $44,000 for the U.S. Marshals Survivors Benefit Fund.
Congrats to the 2014 Marshals Golf Classic winners!!! Donald, Michelle, Howard and Jackie on Team Donovan won 1st Place on the East Course. Zachary, Patrick and Bryan from Team Boyd won 1st Place on the South Course.
Special thanks to the organizers and volunteers for their hard work and the months of preparation that made the 2014 Marshals Golf Classic such a huge success. Many thanks to all of the sponsors whose generous contributions made the event possible. Finally, our heartfelt gratitude to all of the players and participants, especially those who flew in from across the country to support such a great cause. To all of you, THANK YOU.

1st Annual Desert Golf Classic Exceeds Fundraising Goals!!!
The following is a letter from Inspector Nahorniak, who coordinated the event:
I want to start by thanking everyone who participated, donated, volunteered and help bring in donations, players and sponsors for the 1st Annual Desert Golf Classic. The event was a huge success, with 113 golfers and over 30 volunteers. Everyone had a GREAT time and we received many compliments from the players, sponsors and participating agency representative’s. We also had the honor of having one of our fallen hero’s, Deputy US Marshal John Perry, mother at the event.
Six months ago, when we started planning for this event, the committee members had a goal of a profit of $10K for the golf outing. During this time the AZ Chapter representatives volunteered hundreds of hours in helping spread the word, running errands to organize the event and hitting the streets making contacts to help us bring in prizes that would help generate money for our raffles. I am happy to report the 1st Annual Desert Golf Classic brought in a total profit of $26,495.38 for the US Marshals Survivors Benefit Fund, $15,420.00 of which was made on Oct. 04, 2014 at the event. Your help and generosity is greatly appreciated. I want to thank the board members in DC, Dan O’Donnell, John Bolen and Davan Gabbard, for all the help and guidance the last 6 months. I would also like to thank our AZ Chapter members, Bill Nelson, Jim Umbach, Jen Harkins, Ron Krause, Bill Noble and Daniel Leyva for all the long hours spent in making this the success it was.

N/IN and D/MA Coordinate National Fundraiser- Police Week 2014
On June 9, 2014, after several months of coordination, the selfless actions of two Deputies and their partnership with Sally’s Cop Shop finally came to fruition. The U.S. Marshals Survivors Benefit Fund was the recipient of a donation in the amount of $5,950.00. The Board of Directors would like to recognize Sally’s Cop Shop for their generosity and thank everyone who purchased a 2014 Police Week T-Shirt. We would also like to give special appreciation to the two Deputies from the Northern District of Indiana and the District of Massachusetts for their continued commitment to our mission.
