Mr. John J. Patrignani was elected to the Board of Directors of the U.S. Marshals Survivors Benefit Fund (USMSBF) in July, 2014.  He was subsequently appointed Treasurer of the USMSBF in 2016.

A native of Pennsylvania, Mr. Patrignani attended Moravian College, Bethlehem, PA, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice in 1989.  He was a student athlete, playing football and wrestling, and was inducted into Moravian College’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2006.

Mr. Patrignani began his Federal law enforcement career in 1990 when he was sworn in as a Deputy U.S. Marshal in the U.S. Marshal Service (USMS) Eastern District of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.  He was promoted to Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal in 1998.  From 2002-2007, he served as the Commander of the Philadelphia Violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force which was the first fulltime active fugitive task force formed within the USMS.  In 2007, he was promoted to Assistant Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal and promoted again in 2008 to become the Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal.

During his tenure as Chief Deputy, he was also appointed Acting U.S. Marshal during the period 2009-2011.  Under his management, the USMS Philadelphia office initiated “Operation Safe Surrender,” a national law enforcement initiative that netted the peaceful surrender of 424 violent felons over a four-day operation.  He retired from the USMS in 2017.  During his USMS career, Mr. Patrignani received several USMS Director’s Awards and the U.S Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service.  Under his leadership, the Eastern District of Pennsylvania office was named the 2012 USMS District of the Year.

Upon his retirement from the USMS in 2017, Mr. Patrignani was recruited to be the Senior Director of Security for Liberty Property Trust, Comcast Campus, in Philadelphia, PA.  Liberty Property Trust is a real estate investment trust investing in office buildings and industrial properties.

In 2019, he became the Senior Director of Security for Prologis, Comcast Campus, Philadelphia, PA, which became the parent company of Liberty Property Trust.

Mr. Patrignani serves on the Board of Directors of the Buena High School Regional Athletic Hall of Fame and on the Board of the Vineland Soccer Association.  He also volunteers his time as a youth soccer coach in New Jersey.
